A young farmer living in a two-room house changed his luck and time by doing a new experiment in farming. Gujuki is a small village 10 km away from the city of Alwar. Now anyone can tell the address of the village farmer Jitendra Kumar Saini (40). There is a poly house in his farm and he irrigates the fields with cow’s milk.

It may sound strange. Jitendra, who thinks of modern farming like poly house, is not modern in the matter of manure. They do not use chemical drugs, pesticides or fertilizers in the field. Rather, he has kept 16 cows to make manure. The milk, urine, curd, buttermilk, ghee of these cows are mixed together to make manure and used in agriculture. It is claimed that by doing this the fertility of their land has increased significantly and the production has almost doubled.

So in this episode of farming of my country, know about Jitendra Kumar Saini, the farmer of Alwar

Two rooms till 2012, now earning 2 lakhs every month

Jitendra’s house is in Gujuki village. 15 members in the house. Everyone does farming. Till 2010, the family used to do traditional farming. The large family lived in a 2-room house. The family could barely survive on three bighas of land. After working hard for a year, there was hardly a savings of Rs 1 lakh. After this, Jitendra thought of setting up a poly house in the field. Farmers get subsidy on new experiments in agriculture. In 2012, Jitendra set up a poly house in a 3 bigha farm.

In 10 years now Jitendra’s family has become happy. Now Jitendra’s earning is Rs 2 lakh every month. Jitendra had set up a poly house in 2012 on his 3 bighas of land. In 10 years, Jitendra has done a business of Rs 3 crore from Poly House. In the first 5 years, this business was of 1 crore. In the last 5 years it has increased to 2 crores. 3 brothers including Jitendra live in common. Parents are nearby. Jitendra has studied till 12th. The second brother Mahendra has also studied till 12th only. Third brother Vijendra is a graduate. All three brothers do farming together.

Visit of Delhi ICAR changed Jitendra’s life

Jitendra told that in 2010, a team of farmers from the area had gone to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi (ICAR) on behalf of the Agriculture Department. Jitendra was also a part of this team. There they were told about poly house agriculture. New technology informed. Agricultural scientist Dr Neelam Patel helped a lot. She came several times to Jitendra’s house and told him the tricks of new farming.

Jitendra told that he first installed a drip system for irrigation in his field. Got a loan from PNB Bank for the poly house, on which the government gave 75 percent subsidy. In the year 2012, after taking a loan of Rs 20 lakh, set up a poly house and started earning well. After this, got information about the Gobar gas plant.

Gobar gas plant for 50 thousand, cylinder leave for 10 years

Jitendra said that by investing only 50 thousand rupees, he set up a Gobar gas plant. Gathering information about farming innovations. The idea of Gobar gas plant came from agricultural scientists Dr. Neelam Patel and Dr. Dabas. He helped set up the Gobar gas plant. Jitendra went on to multipurpose this project gradually. Gobar gas started being used in the kitchen. The plant residue was used as fertilizer in agriculture.

The women of Jitendra’s family are happy about the Gobar gas plant. He says that the cylinder did not come in the kitchen for 10 years. The stove is burning with the gas of the Gobar gas plant. All the work in the kitchen is being done with this gas. There is no fear of catching fire in this gas. The flame of the stove also remains strong.

Irrigation-medicine-manure with cow dung, milk, buttermilk since 2015

With the use of cow dung, the production and the fertility of the land increased, so in 2015, Jitendra bought cows of Gir breed. He started making slurry of their dung and putting it in the field. Absolutely reduced the use of chemical drugs, urea. Presently he has 16 cows.

Cow’s milk, cow urine, dung, curd, buttermilk and ghee are all being used by Jitendra to make manure and spray. Jitendra says that I have been using different fertilizers and sprays since 6-7 years and the production is getting very good. Together we three brothers are doing organic farming. Not using chemicals at all. The great thing is that it increased yields, reduced expenses and increased income.

Now Jitendra mixes milk, buttermilk, ghee in cow’s dung besides turmeric, jaggery and soil and sprinkles desi in the plant. Its results are shocking. The production of the produce has increased from 70 tonnes to 110 tonnes. Jitendra says that he used to spend 2 to 3 lakh rupees a year on chemical drugs and urea. Now this cost has become zero. He sells vegetables worth Rs 35 lakh annually in a 3 bigha farm in a poly house. It costs around 10 lakhs. 25 lakhs a year are saved.

Jitendra told that at present 10 out of his 16 cows are using cow dung and cow urine as manure in the produce. Milk, buttermilk and ghee of 6 cows are fully used for farming. Recently, Alwar Collector Dr Jitendra Kumar Soni also visited the farmer’s poly house. The pattern of farming was so much liked that the collector gave financial help of 1 lakh rupees to develop a modern cowshed.

Farmed Rs 2 crore in 5 years

Jitendra has cultivated 3 crores in 10 years from 2012 till now from poly house. From the first 5 years 2012 to 2016, a turnover of Rs 1 crore was done. Then after 2017 have done business up to Rs 2 crore. Since 2017, we are continuously irrigating with cow dung, milk, buttermilk and ghee, sprinkling fertilizer and medicine.

Farm Pond, Water Harvesting, Drip System i.e. Green Agriculture

Jitendra has also built a farm pond near the poly house. Due to water harvesting, rain water gets stored in this pond. The water of the poly house also comes in it during the rains. Irrigation through drip system. Along with this, solar system has also been installed.

Talking about green agriculture, Jitendra said that it is generally believed that the fertility of the land in poly houses decreases in 5 years. Have to change place. But since cow dung and other products have been used as manure, the production also increased and the fertility of the land also increased. Jitendra says that many farmers are giving 3 bighas of land as much as they earn by doing traditional farming in 50 bighas.
